The Licking County Library is thrilled to partner with Central Ohio Technical College (COTC) to provide 24 Hour Public Library Service in the Licking Heights School District. The bookmobile has been serving this area of our service district well for many years. This innovative solution will further enhance public library service to the far western side of the county.
The 24 Hour Library-In-A-Box (24 Hour Library/Broad Street) will be placed in the parking lot at the COTC-Pataskala Campus located at 8660 Broad Street, Reynoldsburg. The library will have a collection of over 350 items including books, DVD’s and audiobooks. The “box” also provides a Wi-Fi Hotspot, a place to return your items, download FREE digital eBooks and more. If the item you want is not available in the box, you can place a hold, selecting from over 8 million items. If you wish to pay an overdue fee, you can pay with your credit card right at the box.
All you need is a Licking County Library card. Staff will be in the area at various events and on the campus in the next several weeks ready to issue library cards. You can also complete the online application and have your card mailed to you.
Once in place, the touch screen instructions are very intuitive. Library card holders need only enter their barcode, make the selection and the item is dispensed. To return items, enter your library card number and the slot will automatically open for you to return your items. It’s that easy and it’s all FREE.
Many thanks to our community who passed a 1 mil operating levy in 2014 showing their support of the library. This revenue paired with grants from The Licking County Foundation, the Lindorf Foundation, the Cecil Mauger Charitable Trust and the John and Mary Alford Foundation and the support of Central Ohio Technical College have made this all possible.
